The 'Get LESS' toolkit includes a variety of communications and outreach tools for county and municipal staff and other organizations to educate and encourage people to reduce the amount of waste they produce by "getting LESS!"
The toolkit contains the following components:
Videos: Comical "infomercial" style videos that encourage people to "Get LESS Today!" These videos can also be linked to, accessed from, and watched at http://www.youtube.com/user/RethinkRecyclingcom.
Images: Images of waste reduction activities and situations, like using a reusable bag, hosting a garage sale, or donating items.
Articles: Over ten short articles, perfect for your organization's newsletters, website, blog or other publications.
Social Media Posts: A long list of pre-written Twitter and Facebook posts on variety of waste reduction facts and topics.
PowerPoint Presentation: A presentation titled "Waste Reduction 101" for our partners to present to any of their residents to educate and inspire them to reduce the amount of waste they produce.

About the Solid Waste Management Coordinating Board (SWMCB)
The Solid Waste Management Coordinating Board (SWMCB), formed in 1990, is a joint powers board comprised of two commissioners from the counties of Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey and Washington, Minnesota. To enhance intergovernmental coordination, the Board also includes representation from the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA). The mission of the SWMCB is to increase the efficiency and environmental effectiveness of the region's solid waste management system.
The SWMCB has three areas of focus led by commissioners and supported by key managerial and technical staff from its member counties and the MPCA. These three areas are:
1. Communications and Outreach
2. Regional Policy Development
3. Collaborative Activities
